After a great kick-off tournament in Antwerp last month, it was time for the second leg of the Beneligue tournament. This time around the Brusseleirs had the honor of organizing the event. They found a gigantic indoor hockey court in Namur that was perfect for the occasion. Teams from Holland, Tournai, Lille, Brussels, Paris and Antwerp showed up to play.
Simon Says (Antwerp) ended up winning the Swiss rounds and Swing For The Chin! (Antwerp) came in 8th place, so they both made it into the double elimination. Simon Says took out SwingFTC! in the first round and had to play Guacapolo in the next. This game became a real heart stopper that ran into overtime until Guaca scored the golden goal. Nicky, Jaouad and Chris were out of breath by the time they played their final game against the Hoaxers (Lille) and got their asses handed to them by the Frenchies. Simon Says better luck next time!
The Parisian wonderboys took home the trophy and EHVFXD (Eindhoven) took second place. Simon Says came in 5th and SwingFTC! got 7th place. All in all a good day for Antwerp Bike Polo!
